Our nonprofit client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage core financial operations, maintain accurate fund accounting, and support grant compliance. Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Nonprofit Accounting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Manage the general ledger and track unrestricted, temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted net assets.
Oversee fund accounting and ensure proper allocation of expenses across programs and grants.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Day-to-Day Accounting Operations
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor relationships.
Oversee payroll entries and liaise with payroll processors.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
Assist with preparation for the annual audit and Form 990.
Compliance & Process Improvement
Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
Recommend system or process enhancements to improve efficiency.
Serve as the primary financial contact for external auditors and CPA partners.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (QuickBooks Online)
